”Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves”
– John Muir (1901)
This is an opportunity for families who wish they had a bit more time in nature or would like to share a journey together to learn about the wilderness and forest skills – in a space that is accessible by public transport! Through games, songs, storytelling, crafts and challenges, we will inspire and help connect your family to the seasons and wonders of the natural world. Come prepared with weather-appropriate clothing, lunch and snacks, and a playful and curious spirit.
We will explore different themes and nature skills throughout the year ranging from animal tracking, plant and tree identification, bird language, survival skills, to sharing songs, moments of gratitude, and sensory awareness practices.
We will tailor the program to the families’ interests, ages and abilities as we get to know each other throughout the season. We are excited to share parts of our teaching model and leadership with the parents during the course of the program, to help families cultivate routines of connection in their lives.
